Dan Warren appointed Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals
Dan Warren, Chief Innovation Officer at UK Telecoms Lab (UKTL), has been appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP). ITP Fellowship recognises individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the telecoms sector through leadership, innovation and technical expertise.
Throughout his career, Dan has played a key role in shaping the technologies that underpin modern communications. He has held senior positions at Samsung, Capita, GSMA, Vodafone and Nortel, and has served on boards and advisory groups across UK and European research and innovation programmes.
Among his achievements, he played a leading role in the industry work to define Voice over LTE (VoLTE), a technology that enables high-quality voice calls over 4G networks while allowing users to use voice and data services at the same time. Today, VoLTE is widely deployed by mobile operators around the world and supports voice services for millions of users every day.
At UKTL, Dan leads the Technology Evolution roadmap, helping to shape the future of telecoms through work on standards, security, resilience, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
