UKTL joined over 8,000 industry leaders at Connected Britain 2025, the nation’s premier event for the digital economy.

In an increasingly digital world, security is the foundation of connection. UKTL’s senior leadership contributed to two pivotal discussions shaping the future of national resilience:

  • 24 September, 16:45 – Bridgette Bigmore, Chief Technology Officer, joined the panel “Britain’s cyber underground: How hacktivism and cybercrime are testing national resilience”, sharing a critical national infrastructure perspective. Bridgette emphasised the importance of zero-trust principles and assuming compromise as a baseline for defence, alongside experts from Linksys, Darktrace, and Firevault.
  • 25 September, 13:30 – Greig Paul, Connectivity Security Technical Advisor, spoke on “The new cyber battleground: Protecting Britain’s critical infrastructure”, highlighting the need for real-world security and resilience testing and the challenge of developing deep technical skills to secure end-to-end systems.

Bridgette reflected on the event:

This year’s Connected Britain felt different, with consolidation on the horizon and challenging times ahead for operators. It’s good that security remains front and centre in these conversations.

UKTL’s work matters because the UK’s digital economy depends on trust and resilience. By validating equipment and networks against rigorous standards, UKTL helps operators deploy technology that can withstand emerging threats, from hacktivism to AI-driven attacks, while enabling innovation and growth.

Next stop: India Mobile Congress and Birmingham Tech Week 2025, continuing our mission to protect critical national infrastructure and drive global influence in secure connectivity.
