Dan Warren joins the UK Telecoms Lab as Chief Innovation Officer
The UK Telecoms Lab (UKTL) has appointed Dan Warren as Chief Innovation Officer, bringing significant depth of technical research and innovation expertise to the organisation.
Dan joins UKTL having built his career across the full breadth of the telecoms sector, holding senior positions at operators, vendors, trade associations and system integrators. His range of experience – encompassing commercial, technical and policy perspectives – positions him well to lead UKTL’s standards participation and future technology evolution.
Most recently, Dan served as Director of Communications Research at Samsung Research UK, where he led technical research and innovation in 5G and 6G, the application of AI to telecoms networks, and standards engagement with 3GPP, ETSI and the GSMA. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Capita, GSMA, Vodafone and Nortel, consistently focused on research, innovation and standards.
Dan holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Brunel University and was recently appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Bristol.
